DrifterBuoy Android app

The app reads the buoy’s measurements over Bluetooth, shows recent results and plots them on a map. It is in beta and is shared only with selected users.

You need access before you can download

The link asks you to sign in. Enter your email address and Cloudflare sends you a numeric PIN, which stays valid for ten minutes. Only addresses we have added in advance receive a PIN.

If you do not have access yet, contact support and tell us which email address to add. If the PIN does not arrive, check your spam folder and allow mail from noreply@notify.cloudflare.com.

Installing on Android

Android does not install apps from a browser by default, so there are two extra steps compared with the Play Store:

1. When Chrome warns you that the file might be harmful, choose to keep it. It shows this for every app downloaded outside the Play Store.
2. Open the downloaded file. If Android says installation is blocked, allow Install unknown apps for your browser, then open the file again.

This is a test build

The beta is signed with a test key. When we later publish a production build, Android refuses to install it over this one, so you will have to uninstall the beta first. Anything stored only in the app is lost at that point.
